We’re eagerly counting down the days until we have our tree climbing event! Who is brave enough to join us?
In our ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ you’ll find ‘climb a tree’ at number 1. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find it hard to find a decent tree to climb, but thankfully our event with the Great Big Tree Climbing Company should help! They will teach you how to climb a tree using knots, ropes and carabinas – just like the professionals! If you manage the climb you could take the fast route down by zip wire or take a ‘giant leap of faith’.
We’ll have some tree climbing sessions on 14 April and again on 27 May. Sessions are pre-bookable and all slots on 14 April are now full so we advise that you secure your place in advance for May as places do fill up quickly!
If you can’t make it to our event days or really want to climb a tree in April, why not take a look at some of the other places hosting tree climbing? There are many other National Trust places up and down the country offering this, including Croome in Worcestershire. But if you’re more local to us, you’ll also find Compton Verney – our neighbours just down the road – are also exploring their tree tops on 15 April and 31 May!
