Work with us…

Time is running out if you’ve not yet put in an application for some of our exciting job vacancies!

Just a quick reminder, if you want to join our team as a member of staff, we’re currently on the look out for the following roles…

A Gardener:

This 12 month post is ideal for anyone with green fingers and a passion for the outdoors. Our gardens and grounds are just as significant as the house and its fabulous collections. We need a gardener who recognises this and wants to be part of a practical and dynamic team. You’ll also meet many of our visitors and will need to be confident to help answer their questions and provide a warm welcome to the site.

We’ve lots of blog posts about what is happening to develop and maintain the grounds so do have a look through them to get a feel for the role and meet our current team.

Closing date: 28 January.

A Visitor Experience Officer

We’re a bit sad… Beth, our current VEO, is leaving us. She is heading to the dizzy heights of Heelis (our central office in Swindon) on a 6-month secondment. Whilst this is wonderful for her, and the Heelis team who will be working with her, that does leave us a little lost. We’re looking for someone who can help us bridge the gap whilst she’s away. Beth plays an important role in the delivery of exceptional customer care and accessibility for all visitors. Whilst Charlecote is an amazing place to be, make no mistake, this is a demanding role and calls for someone with bags of enthusiasm. You need to be practical and hands on with excellent communication skills, whilst being confident working to targets.

More information is on our National Trust jobs website, along with a full role profile.

Closing date: 29 January.

A Front of House & Volunteering Coordinator

No two days are ever the same at Charlecote, and that’s what makes this job so exciting! Are you cool under pressure, love working with people and willing to get hands on? Take a look at the role profile and see if you meet the criteria. With over 160,000 visitors each year, you can really make a difference to each and everyone’s day and help us to ensure the smooth-running of the site.

*This role has had a bit of a name change and the role profile revamped but you can get a flavour of what the job entails on this blog post, written by one of our previous members of staff.

Closing date: 4 February.

A Passport to your future trainee (Managing Historic Gardens)

This Heritage Lottery Funded scheme is a great way to get the experience and training you need to put you in a good stead for a career in horticulture. We’re really pleased to be taking part in the scheme for a second year.

Gardener working in the garden at Dyrham Park, Gloucestershire.

Hannah, our first trainee, spend her time at Charlecote learning the skills on the job. She was able to get hands on and try her hand at designing planting schemes and became a really valued member of our team. At the end of her placement she was able to go on to a job at a local estate, Alscot. Although we miss her greatly, we know she is destined for great things.

Are you? Put in an application soon to be in with a chance!

If you would like to attend a Taster day to find our more visit the Passport to your future website.

Closing date: 1 March.

Alternatively, don’t forget that we’re always welcoming new volunteers to the team! Many of the roles are listed on the South Warwickshire Heritage Portal.
