Ancestry: What will you discover?

Have you visited our Victorian kitchen and imagined a great-great ancestor working amongst the copper pots and pans? Or perhaps wandering around the grounds with the feeling that one of your family may have been an inhabitant of a grand country house like ours? Well, now you have the chance to delve into archive materials and census’ from days gone by and find out!

The National Trust have been working with the lovely people at Ancestry.co.uk and we now have a computer terminal onsite that you are more than welcome to make use of. The computer has access to millions of records to help you build your family tree.

You’ll find the computer in our small second hand bookshop (located by the entrance to the Victorian Kitchen).

Ancestry have a wonderful online resource that you can access from home and National Trust members can take advantage of a great money saving offer, more information is on our main website
