Have you heard about the Great British Walk? Here at the National Trust we are celebrating the outdoors with our walking festival that launched last month. You will no doubt see lots of walking themed events happening at your local National Trust places.
Last year at Charlecote we had a boundary walk that went around the entire perimeter of the estate. We are building on that success this year and are doing it all over again on 4th November! We’ll have staff and volunteers on hand to answer questions and show you some of their favourite areas of the park. Some areas are not normally open so it is a good chance to get access to the entire estate!
We’re also having some shorter family walks (27th October) and smaller group walks around the park (various dates) with a guide. There is no need to book on to these FREE events – just turn up (normal admission charges apply). You will need to wear some good footwear and dress for the weather because we’ll be going ahead whatever the weather!!!
Our outdoor walks look at the history of the house as you’ll see it from many different angles and viewpoints, but also the animals who live on the estate. You’ll get the chance to find out how we manage the parkland and speak to the team who do it!
We’ve put some of our favourite walks on the website for you to download. But if you have a favourite walk you like to do, why not share it… you could win a stay in one of our holiday cottages!
