We’re taking part in the Edible Garden Show that is on at nearby Stoneleigh Park. If you are visiting the show over the next couple of days, you will find a group National Trust (Midlands) staff and volunteers at stand 260.
Our Park & Garden Manager, Lisa is there tomorrow (Saturday 17th March) with Tim, our Assistant Visitor Services Manager. They’ll be delighted to talk to you about Charlecote and some of our delicious produce. Did you know we sell our own venison, lamb and hogget? We have a great selection of Charlecote and other local food produce in our local shop onsite in the Gatehouse.
Some of our neighbouring National Trust places are in attendance too. You can meet Neil, the Head Gardener from Hanbury who grows an amazing array of plants. Neil is giving a talk on Saturday – he’ll be telling visitors about vegetable garden in the early 18th century, exploring its link and importance to the kitchen. Hanbury Hall have recently recreated the vegetable garden so it should be a good chance to find out how, and why!
Thanks to Pamela Smith, our garden consultant, who kindly took the photos we have included here in this post. Why not follow her on twitter and follow the progress of the show and the work that she does for the National Trust?
