The National Trust is known to be one of the largest conservation charities, looking after many green spaces. As an organisation we’re trying to make sure we’re ‘green’ in so many other areas of our work. The green agenda is becoming increasingly important at all National Trust places and Charlecote is no exception!
Here at Charlecote we have recently started up our ‘Green Group’. Headed up by me (Ruth) I’m working with staff and volunteers here to raise awareness and work to create a sustainable future for us. We’re in our early days but we’re keen to make a difference and share what we learn with you all.
Other National Trust places have set up similar groups and are already achieving great things… here is a great video from the National Trust’s YouTube channel. I’m not sure if we’ll get to the stage of putting up solar panels, getting people to switch off lights when leaving a room is challenge enough at the moment!
